Star Wars: Battlefront 3
As of several months ago, Lucasarts has been rumored to have been preparing a new title in the Battlefront series, which was widely popular across the Xbox and Playstation 2 gaming consoles, but today, lives the most on the PC.
The March edition of Playstation World noted that Free Radical-the team that produced the epic GoldenEye and Timesplitters games- would be working on the next title in the Battlefront series.
They note:
“Star Wars Battlefront III is also currently in development, with LucasArts having switched coders from Pandemic Studios – who made Battlefront I and Battlefront II – to Free Radical… SWBIII is listed as an Xbox 360 exclusive, but expect a full PSW review to before the end of the year.”
Lucasarts is yet to announce this game officially, and chances are that the Xbox 360 exclusiveness will not stay for long, considering the fan base that has been built on the PC and Playstation versions. Also, knowing Lucasarts and their connections with Nintendo and the such, you can easily expect this game to arrive (if it does) on other consoles.
If this information that Playstation World sports is true, it’s great news for the fans of the series, as it will bring new twists the the general gameplay, considering Free Radical’s previous titles. Each of these games, much like the first 2 Battlefronts, held for quite a while with an epic Multiplayer system, that was simple, yet refined.
